Volunteer: 2025 Group Breakfast Service at YRC

Prior to signing up for the YRC Group Meal Service, it's crucial to watch the sign-up video for essential information on the process, meal options, and important details.

We appreciate your interest in volunteering at VOA Utah's Youth Resource Center. It's important to note that the single signup slot is intended to reserve the meal slot for the entire group.

Unlike many food service opportunities, volunteers at the YRC are responsible for both providing and serving meals. At the YRC we ask for groups of up to 10 people to sign up (4 to 6 is ideal for our kitchen size). Thank you, we couldn't do it without you!

Real Mentorship, Real Connections:

Every match is a unique story of growth, friendship, and support. Meet three of our matches who’ve shown us what true mentorship can be.

Jenny & Ronda: A Connection That Lasts  When Jenny joined the program as a shy freshman, she was anxious about high school. That changed when she met Ronda, her mentor. Right from the beginning, the two clicked, with Ronda helping Jenny find her footing by encouraging her to try new things, giving advice, and listening without judgment. Over the next three years, Ronda was there to support Jenny through every big and small moment, becoming a constant presence she could count on. Though Jenny aged out of the program after turning 18, she and Ronda remain a big part of each other’s lives. Now, Jenny has graduated high school, landed her first job, bought her first car, and is gearing up for college—milestones Ronda is thrilled to see her reach.

Lya & Frida: Embracing Uniqueness Together Frida and her mentor, Lya, were both anything but shy when they met. Their mutual willingness to put themselves out there made them an instant match. Over time, they’ve built a strong connection through shared interests in art, music, and celebrating their individuality. Lya has supported Frida not just as a mentor but as a friend to her and her family, offering guidance rooted in love and experience. Frida is now a high school student, and her relationship with Lya is going strong. They continue to bond over creative projects and their shared belief in staying true to themselves.

Bobby & Joe: From Strangers to Family Bobby and Joe started as strangers, but they now call each other family. From their first meeting, they bonded over a shared love of music, food, and basketball, and they’ve built a friendship that goes far beyond mentoring. Bobby is proud to introduce Joe to his friends as “my mentor,” and the two challenge each other to step outside their comfort zones, whether it’s a one-on-one basketball game or hitting the slopes to try snowboarding. Joe’s patience and understanding have been a steady force in Bobby’s life, and together, they continue to make memories through shared adventures, laughter, and mutual respect.  Each of these matches represents the heart of Amplified Mentoring: genuine connections that go beyond a program and grow into lifelong bonds.
